Welcome to First Grade
Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers!!!
I still need some students to return their spring pictures or the payment for the pictures. Please return those by Monday.
We will have a normal week for classes next week. There will be a spelling and reading test on Friday.
You will find your child's end of year Dibels report for math. I will finish the reading levels next week and send that home next Friday.
Be sure to ask your child about the African drum and dance performance. The students loved it and learned information about Africa while having fun.

Reading: We will work on words with that are spelled with "air", "are", and "ear". This week's vocabulary words are nation and unite. This week's high frequency words are favorite, surprise, few, wonder, gone, young. On Monday and Tuesday we will read and discuss the story Share the Harvest and Give Thanks. On Wednesday and Thursday we will read and discuss Happy Birthday U.S.A.! . We will focus on identifying the author's purpose. We will have our regular test on Friday.
Math: We will finish working on chapter 10, which focuses on 3-dimensional shapes, on Monday. We will review on Tuesday and have a test on Wednesday. We will take our final timed test of the year on Monday.
Science: We will continue working with plants.
Writing/Grammar: We will work on using I and me correctly. We will also do some basic writing review.
Social Studies: We will focus on Science.
Religion: We will complete chapter 19 on Monday. We will have a test on Tuesday. Look for the study guide on Monday evening in your child's religion book.
